We just added over $1 million to the Safety and Loss Prevention Grant Fund. Now is the best time to make some serious purchases for your district, upgrade those old and out-of-date pieces of equipment, or splurge on that training you have always wanted for your team.
Join the hundreds of districts that use our program each year and receive a reimbursement of up to 50% of the cost of qualifying purchases. These purchases must prevent a covered risk, so use your imagination!
Since this program launched, we have allocated more than $6.8 million to members’ accounts, helping pay for renovations, upgrades, purchases, safety equipment, trainings, CSD-sponsored programs, and more.
Here are a few examples of purchases members have made in the past:
- Fencing and security cameras
- Personal protective equipment
- Automatic external defibrillators
- Cyber vulnerability assessments
- Anti-virus software
- Fire policy guidance services from Lexipol
- Safety training
- Slip-proof flooring
- Handrails
- Fire hose testing
- ADA-compliance upgrades
- Training and seminars
To help districts cope with COVID-19, the Pool will open up the current $4.8 million in allocated Safety and Loss Prevention Grant funds to 100% reimbursement for COVID-19 response expenses incurred by the district. Visit our website to apply for this specific reimbursement. Same restrictions apply. This will include but is not limited to: resupply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), disinfecting cleanup expense, and non-reimbursed quarantine expenses incurred by employees as a safety precaution to protect other employees.
Remember, these funds expire after five years if they are not used, so start planning now. There are a few things excluded from the program, but we are happy to answer any questions you may have about potential purchases. Put in your request today on our website.
