CSD Pool Update

Meet Your Team: Dianne Criswell

Dianne Criswell is officially on staff with the SDA working with the Colorado Special Districts Property and Liability Pool as the General Counsel. Dianne is now dedicated to the Pool administration team, thus allowing for greater synergy on the issues and projects important to the Pool and its membership.

Dianne will also be acting as general counsel and providing her legal services to our sister organizations, the Special District Association of Colorado and the Colorado Firefighter Heart and Cancer Benefits Trust (CFHC Trust).

For the year prior to this arrangement, Dianne worked with the CSD Pool as our counsel at the firm Kelly PC. She has focused her career on government fiscal and legal work. Dianne graduated from the University of Washington Law School in 2003 and is licensed in Colorado and Washington state (inactive).

She also served as the Revenue Counsel to the Washington State Senate and Legislative Counsel at the Colorado Municipal League (CML). In those positions, she handled a variety of issues including sales and property tax, Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR), elections, open meetings, open records, and the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act.

At CML, she advocated for public entities with the courts through amicus curiae briefs and with the Colorado General Assembly.

Dianne is a Colorado native and lives in Denver with her husband, Ethan, and her son, Charlie. They can often be found skiing or hiking in Colorado’s mountains.

We are more than excited to be working with Dianne more directly. She brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and expertise to the Pool and to its many partners and members. Please join us in welcoming her to our team.
