SDA Conference Scholarships Available to First-Timers

The SDA Annual Conference is right around the corner, which means you have the opportunity to attend on the CSD Pool’s dime. Every year, the CSD Pool selects several dozen key district employees, board members, or managers who are new to their roles or who have never attended the conference and covers the cost of attendance.

Selected applicants will receive a scholarship totaling up to $900 toward conference registration cost, food, mileage, and lodging. All members are encouraged to apply, but priority is given to new managers, board members, and others who have not previously attended.

For first-timers and veterans alike, this conference provides numerous workshop sessions on subjects specific to special district governance and management. More than a thousand district representatives and associate members will be in attendance, making this a great opportunity to network and hear from colleagues.

Best of all, recipients are able to attend this year’s CSD Pool Membership Meeting. This year, our keynote speaker is Michael Bazzell, cyber security and privacy training expert. Bazzell is a former member of the FBI’s Cyber Crimes Task Force and has over twenty of years of cyber crime forensic experience. He will address the membership with his presentation “Protecting Your District from Cyber Crime.”

This program is a great illustration of what differentiates the Pool from the traditional insurance market. We invest our funds back into our members by demonstrating to new managers and board members everything the SDA Conference has to offer.
