One of the biggest complaints people have about incident reporting is that it takes too long. Now, there is an easier way to report, document, investigate, and manage your incidents than pen, paper, and spreadsheet.
The CSD Pool has collaborated Sospes Inc. to provide incident reporting services. They bring you exactly what you need. By utilizing these apps, you will be able to manage your district’s risk efficiently from any location, at any time.
What makes mobile reporting software so efficient?
- Submit observations, near misses, and incidents
- Track incidents
- Manage corrective actions
- Create custom forms for managing your inspections
Sospes can be accessed from a smartphone, tablet, or computer, making it easy to report an incident no matter your location.
Currently, the Pool has roughly 600 employees from three districts utilizing Sospes. Two of them have provided testimonials about using the program.
“Sospes is a great application to digitize your safety program and to get all of your crews actively participating,” says Daniel Siebert, Eagle River Water and Sanitation District’s EHS Coordinator.
Eagle River has been using Sospes for two years, and according to Seibert, the program has helped their employees by empowering them to take a stake in their safety culture, and by ensuring that the right employees are brought up to speed on any incident, accident, or observations their employees make.
When it comes to managing their incidents, Sospes has reportedly helped them reduce their paper load and communicate hazards quickly through the chain of command, ensuring that the right people know when an incident has occurred.
Employees at Metro Wastewater Reclamation District have become frequent users since they went live in August of 2018. According to Sunny Bradford, the District’s EHS Specialist, they use all the modules offered including reporting Incidents, Close Calls, Make Us Better (safety observation) and Inspections. The Make Us Better tool is the most used function of the software with over 235 observations to date. Sunny says that “hazards are no longer ignored or go uncorrected. Now they are easily identified by employees, investigated and assigned with a due date. The tool has helped us become more efficient and safer.”
Bradford says that they “set a goal for every employee, from the District Manager to the new hire, to report at least one observation per month.”
Being proactive is critical to the success of any district safety program. No longer can someone just walk by a hazard and not say something. With this program, these districts have empowered their employees to take action if something does not look right and report it immediately.
Having a tool like Sospes will help your district keep track of all of your corrective actions and assign them to the right people as efficiently as possible. Recording your incidents into a software product like these will also help you with analytics that you can discuss with district management, your board, and employees to help you become hands-on within your program. When you have trending data in the palm of your hand, you can easily determine what you need to do to prevent future incidents.
